The first few days of our project were spent drafting our storyboard and script. After we hammered out our storyboard, Alex and I began filming our penalty kicks while Leah and Daniel finished the script. With our slow-motion video captured, we began work on our calculations. The next day, we finished the script and finished all of our penalty recordings. We then began to compile all of our videos into editing software and began voice-overs. Throughout the next few days, we edited, revised, and added calculations to our video. After adding all of our voice overs, and music, and tidying up our video we submitted it.
Force of Impact: The average force over the soccer ball through its course. Our result from calculations is an average of 6.26 kg⋅m/s.
Horizontal Velocity: The average velocity of our soccer ball horizontally as it flies towards the net. Our result from calculations was 15.27 m/s.
Vertical Velocity: The average velocity of our soccer ball vertically as it flies towards the net. Our result from calculations was 7.06 m/s.
Total Velocity: The average velocity of our soccer ball as it flies towards the net. Our result from calculations was 16.882 m/s.
Conservation of Momentum: The amount of momentum of the ball and the kick remains constant. Our result from calculations was a leg speed of 3.946 m/s.
Momentum (of the soccer ball): The force of the soccer ball as it flies through the air. Our result from calculations was 6.88 kg⋅m/s.
Impulse: The amount of force applied in a certain amount of time to, in this case, kick a soccer ball. Our result from calculations was .036Ns.
Acceleration: The rate at which our ball speeds up during its time flying through the air. Our result from calculations was 21.218 m/s2.
Throughout this project, I believe that I took a strong leadership role. Looking back I believe that I did a good job guiding the group and dividing work between everyone. However, I believe that next project I should focus more on letting other people be in charge and make more decisions on behalf of the group. I also want to focus on working the entire period without being distracted as much.
