The constraints for our trebuchet were for it to be portable, reusable, with two legs attached to a base, a lever arm with load and effort, to be self-powered, to stay in the same place while firing, and for any dimension not to exceed 1 meter in length. For our design, we chose two pieces of wood to be our legs and attached them to a flat square-shaped board acting as our base. We then found an adequate arm and began drilling holes in our legs and arms to allow for a metal pipe to fit between the legs and through the arm. We then added our rubber bands and a cup sufficient for our projectile.
Throughout this project, my group and I were challenged to quickly build and redesign a trebuchet whilst taking and calculating important data points. During this project, I believe that we split the work fairly evenly and that we all did our part. I believe that I did especially well in communicating with my group about what my ideas and plans were. Another thing I believe that I did well at was my collaboration. I encouraged my groupmates' ideas and tried out their designs.
