Background and Evidence of Work
In this project, we were tasked with making blueprints and constructing a model for a piece of furniture in hopes of having it selected and placed on campus. This piece of furniture had to be low in cost, comfortable, and built with the correct materials.

Material Choice: Because our rocking chair is going to be placed on gravel/grass, it needs to be able to withstand wet environments. This is why we chose to use pressure-treated redwood for the portion of this chair that will be touching the ground. For a comfortable experience, we chose to use a combination of construction common and construction heartwood for the areas people will be touching.
Placement: We chose to put this chair in an area between multiple buildings with high traffic. This means that many people will walk past it and use it.
Use of Sunlight: One of the main selling points of our design is how portable our chair is. It will be able to be moved by one person. The area that we are planning to place the chair in has a tree nearby that we can move the chair to in the summer months so people can stay cool in the shade.
Budget: Since this chair only costs $79.20, many of these chairs can be made for fairly cheap. This is great because if people enjoy one chair, we would be able to make more.
Building Materials:
1 2x4x10 Pressure-Treated
2 2x4x8 Construction Common
2 2x4x8 Construction Heart

Reflection
During this project, practically the only work done was by one other group member and me instead of four of us. For this reason, I believe that the other group member, Andrew, and I did fantastically in every aspect of this project. We completed every requirement and task with half the people in a normal group. I believe that I did especially well in collaboration and critical thinking. Andrew and I worked seamlessly as a team getting everything done and overcoming obstacles as they came into view. I do not believe that Andrew or I could have done anything better in this project.
