The Harker Programming Club educates and inspires students in contest programming and real-world programming applications. Open to all students regardless of experience level, we welcome anyone interested in exploring the world of programming and computer science.
We meet once or twice monthly during long lunch and offer lectures and workshops throughout the year covering various CS-related topics, including USACO training sessions to improve competitive programming skills. Our club provides opportunities for students to develop their algorithmic thinking, learn new programming concepts, and connect with peers who share similar interests.
Our annual events are two programming competitions: the Girls Programming League (GPL), held online each September to encourage girls and non-binary students to explore computer science, and the Harker Programming Invitational (HPI), our in-person March competition that brings together teams from across the region. Both contests feature keynote speakers and provide valuable experience in competitive programming while fostering a supportive community of young programmers.
