I created this poster board for the school Science Fair. My project was "The Gauss Rifle: Effect of Number of Magnet Stages on Ejection Distance", and I found it incredibly challenging but fun. In the process of creating this board, I learned new tricks for physically constructing boards, as well as new ways to approach a big assignment. I was fortunate to win 7th grade Grand Prize and 7th grade Best in Show. At Orange County Science & Engineering Fair, I won 2nd place in the Physics category and was nominated to go to the national Broadcom competition later this year.
This was the first lab that I have ever done and it was lots of fun. I measured the height and wingspan of my classmates and found a positive correlation between the two. We learned about different sections in a typical science paper, which came in pretty handy for my science project and posterboard.
This was part of our reproduction lesson. We were asked to pick an animal and research its reproductive, nurturing, and habitual behavior. Again, this built on our research and summarizing skills.
