In 2024, Malaysia Malcolm Art hosted a competition for the best-designed figurine.
Marvel United Sentinal
When I painted the Sentinel, I had to develop precise control over the paint and master blending techniques to create smooth transitions. I also learned how to strategically place lighting and cast shadows, particularly the blue light effect, to enhance the figurine’s depth and realism. Understanding how light interacts with surfaces was crucial in achieving a dynamic look.
Throughout the process, I focused on steadying my hands to maintain accuracy and avoid mistakes, as even a slight slip could disrupt the fine details. This project helped me refine my skills in precision painting, shading, and overall artistic control.
During the Competition
During the competition, I felt nervous as it was my first figurine competition. Looking around at the other participants' work, I couldn't help but feel a mix of envy and doubt as my piece seemed small and simple in comparison. However, after a few days, the results were announced, and to my surprise, I won in the Junior Category.
