For this presentation project we were told to study an educational philosopher or philosophy that has contributed to modern day Education. This slideshow analyzes the Reggio Emilia approach and the way it's used in our current Elementary school system.
Ethics from Margins explored concepts such as structural inequalities in our Education system. I began by addressing our country's historical discrimination within the education system and how it continues to widen the academic gap between white and BIPOC students. Lastly, I conclude by offering ideas on how we could improve our education system fight against these inequalities.
My summer class Museums of the World explored different forms, styles, and mediums of art as well as the architecture of certain museums around the world. For out final assignment we were instructed to create a museum of our own, so I turned my summer camp group's art work into an exhibit.
This lesson plan educates students on the Miwok tribe and their forms of functional art, including basket weaving. The lesson involves students creating their own Miwok basket on a sheet of paper, with a few sentences as to why their design is signifiant to them.
This was my final anchor assignment for my class in Teaching Early Literacy. This presentation covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening as well as how to create engaging pedagogy around literacy.
"Science Practice #8" is a slideshow about obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information. I review what science practice #8 looks like in a classroom and what we can do as teachers to help students come to their own conclusions. I created this presentation for my Program Design course in which I had to investigate and chart the IEP process for my school district. I then was given the chance to interview my school sites resource manager about the process at Hamilton Meadow Park School.
My partner and I created this slideshow as a part of an assignment in our Teaching Mathematics course. The slideshow goes over methods of teaching multiplication and a problem for student discourse included at the end.
For this anchor assignment, I was tasked with creating an engaging English Language Arts lesson plan. In the lesson plan, I addressed the needs of three focal students who all have IEPs or learning disabilities. I then met with the teacher and discussed the best ways to teach these students. Lastly, I wrote a reflection paper on the experience and the feedback given by my supervising teacher.

My peer group and I led a group discussion and lesson on the importance of having an inclusive classroom for students with various disabilities, we analyzed biases, problems in the school system, and the best strategies to make students with various disabilities feel welcomed into the classroom. We focused on finding literature surrounding disability and examined the SWIFT model.
For my Behavior Intervention course, I was tasked with creating a case study for a chosen student in my student teaching class and then creating a behavior plan. Lastly, I created a mock meeting with parents to share the behavior plan.
