Attached below is a Kindergarten math lesson I taught during their daily center rotations. The goal of the lesson was to help students decompose numbers less than or equal to 10. This lesson served as a prelude to the introduction of subtraction and addition. Students were given the opportunity to think critically by being asked to verbalize their number combinations as well as record their combinations on a ten frame in front of them.
For one of my credential program classes I lead a math discourse with a classmate about "teaching division." We explored the types of division problems students will encounter in the classroom as well as ways to teach and solve these problems. In order to engage with our class we utilized google jamboards and asked questions throughout the discourse to create a more interactive experience.
