For this project, I got the opportunity to "say something" through art. We could say anything we wanted, so I chose to say how much I love my family and how important family is to me by representing each of my family members. I represented each of them by painting a pair of their shoes. I asked each of them what their favorite pair of shoes was, and then I took pictures of their actual shoes and got to paint them. This was one of my favorite projects so far because I got the freedom to choose what I wanted to do, and I was able to paint, which I really enjoy doing. I am very happy with how this project turned out. I loved being able to represent my family through my own art and show how each of us is different and unique, and our favorite shoes can show that. Below are each of the paintings and the name of the person it represents.
For this project, we got to make stained glass. We started off with a practice stained glass to get an understanding of how to do it and then we moved on to choosing our own design. I chose tulips because my mom and I both like them. This project was definitely difficult but it was fun to push myself and learn a new thing in art. One of the hardest parts was cutting all of the curves because I had a lot of them and they needed to be perfect so they would all fit together. Overall, this was a challenging project but I am very happy with the outcome and I never thought that I would make my own stained glass and now I have!
