For this project, I chose to do an oil painting. I started by choosing a picture of our pasture at home and then from there traced it onto the canvas. I then did an under painting using green for the whole thing, that way I could tell all the different shadows present in the picture. Then I got to start painting it for real with the actual colors. I started with the sky and then worked my way up. The trees took a while to figure out, but after I did, they were a lot of fun and freeing to paint. This goes for the grass too, it took a while to figure out and then I got the hang of it and it was a lot of fun! The cows in this painting were a little bit harder to figure out, especially the black ones. It took me a while to figure out how to make them look realistic, but along the way I learned you need to add more contrast to make it look better. In all this project was a really fun one, it took me a long time, but I am very happy with how it turned out!
This project was stained glass and it was a lot of fun. I had been painting so much that having something new to do was really nice! We took glass and learned how to cut it and break it apart, this was probably my favorite part of this project. Then from there, we had to line each piece of glass with a piece of copper foil. This allowed for the lead to melt onto the copper, sauntering the metal together to form this rectangle. It was a very satisfying process and honestly a lot of fun. I enjoyed making this project!
I did the architecture watercolor for a second time. I was really excited about this project just becuase I had had so much fun with it the first time and was excited for the picture I was going to paint. The tracing was probably my least favorite part just becasue I think that gets kind of old and boring. But the watercolor part was so fun. I tried to make it dramatic and really bring out some of the colors but also stay true to the picture. I love how it turned out and am really glad this is what I did for my last project.
