The logo was created digitally on Canva. The idea was to keep it simple and bold to gain the interest of consumers. This is why I used yellow and orange as warm colors to attract attention. I also included the fading recycling symbol behind the organization's name so people can easily identify the organization's goals.
Before the process of designing the cases and monitor stand, I had to make a brief sketch of each individual one. The sketches aren't too complex or show too much detail but the overall design of the cases and stand are shown. The more complex cuts and measurements were made directly on OnShape's software. Art is directly related to this project through the sketches and thought processes of designing the cases and monitor stand. Art was incorporated to design appealing and effective cases for the new repurposed technologies.
The sketch is quite simple, however, the process of making it on OnShape was much more difficult. This design included more than five different components each with its own dimensions.
I have created two designs for an external HDD case. This is the most clean and simple design that I have created for and HDD case. This design however proved to be a challenge because I had to think of a way to make sure the lid can detach from the base. The process of creating the hooks and the empty spaces looked easy on paper, but on OnShape the creating process was entirely different.
There were two designs that came in mind when sketching for the webcam case, however, the most simply one would be the flat one. Making the spherical design for the webcam would be too much for a three inch webcam board, and unfortunately, out of my expertise to design such a complex design.
