October task

For your October task you must document your research and start with planning!

Meet with your supervisor

• Complete the project proposal page on Managebac (if you haven't done so yet).

  • Topic - Goal - Global Context - Assign supervisor

  • Upload three process journal extracts

• Supervisor approves project on Managebac

• Discuss with your supervisor how the project is going and what your next steps are

Demonstrate excellent research skills (Criterion A Strand iii)

Evaluate four sources that you are using (in your process journal)

• • Credibility of the author

  • Accuracy of the information

  • Intended audience

  • Objectivity of the source (e.g. biased)

  • How the information is relevant to your project

prepare a bibliography for your sources in MLA format

Develop rigorous criteria for the product/outcome (Criterion B Strand i) - COMPLETE THIS

Similar to the "Design Specification" in the MYP Design subject. You can use the same format or choose your own.

In your process journal you must record:

• the specific characteristics that your product/outcome should have or achieve.

• the research you did that informed each characteristic

• the justification for each characteristic

Present a detailed and accurate plan (Criterion B Strand ii) - COMPLETE THIS

You have learned how to make a plan in MYP design, but you can also use your own style.

Create a plan of what you will do to achieve the goal of your product/outcome:

• • Detailed logical steps (long term and short term)

  • dates, deadlines, write down any adjustments you made to the timeline

Record the development process (Criterion B Strand ii) - ONGOING

• • Follow your plan and describe clearly the things you are doing to create your product/outcome.

  • Describe and justify any changes from the plan.
