One of the basic education establishments in Tamag, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Region I, the Philippines, is UNP (University of Northern Philippines) Laboratory School. This semi-private institution is run by the University of Northern Philippines foundation. The Teacher Education Program includes the Laboratory schools. This school was found in 1966 and served as a training ground for student teachers, particularly in College of Teacher Education (CTE)-UNP, to gain experience in instructing and leading classes in order to help them develop their professional pedagogical ability.Â
The UNP Laboratory School's vision is to produce globally competitive and morally upright individuals who are committed to lifelong learning and service to humanity. To support its vision, UNP Laboratory School also has some mission to provide quality and holistic education that develops the learners' potential and values. The UNP Laboratory School has motto that says, "Together, We Soar Higher; Together, We Build Character; Together, We Create Future". This motto also reflects the UNP's vision and mission.
The head of the Laboratory School is Principal Dr. Aurelia T. Vitamog, EdD, RGC. This school consists of Child Minding, Kindergarten, 6 grades of Elementary School, 4 grades in Junior High School, and 2 grades in Senior High School that divided into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), ABM (Accounting Business and Management), and TVL (Technical Vocational Livelihood) strand.
