One of the most visited places in Vigan is Calle Crisologo. Calle Crisologo presents old buildings from the Spanish colonial era that leave historical stories.
It is a place that has buildings from the Spanish colonial era. Some of the buildings presented are still original or have not been changed and some of them have been renovated. Based on the information i understand, it is said that renovating the buildings here is very complicated and requires approval from various parties. This place used to be houses used by nobles in ancient times, while the houses of the poor were on the outskirts. One of the buildings here also used to be a school for boys and girls from the nobility and for skillful workers. Boys will be taught how to read, write, and count, while girls will be taught how to weave, sew, and the like in household matters. At one end of this place, there is a statue of a woman named Leona Florentina who has almost the same role as RA Kartini in Indonesia. She tried to improve or equalize the status of a woman with a man. In addition to the houses of the nobles, here there is a building that used to be an animal pen that has now been renovated and converted into a coffee shop. The interesting fact is that along Calle Crisologo, there are about 13 different coffee shops, ranging from the world-famous coffee shop, Starbucks, to local coffee in the Philippines. Calle Crisologo is also a tourist attraction in Vigan and a souvenir center for domestic and foreign tourists.
