The College of Teacher Education (CTE) has a rich history, beginning with its establishment in 1968 to address the growing demand for teacher education, offering programs in Industrial Education, Secondary Education, and Elementary Education. Over the years, it expanded its curriculum, established laboratory schools, and underwent leadership transitions that brought significant advancements, including accreditation, ISO certification, and recognition as a Center of Development. The College has also been instrumental in teacher training, fostering international linkages, and enabling student internships abroad, producing graduates who excel locally and globally, embodying the quality education and values instilled by CTE.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) is a four-year program that equips students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in early childhood care and education. The program focuses on applying these principles in real-world contexts and prepares professionals to work with children aged 0-8 across various early childhood settings, including homes, communities, schools, and workplaces.

Laboratory School of  the College of Teacher Education

The Laboratory School of the College of Teacher Education (CTE) at the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) was established in 1971 through Board Resolution No. 407, S. 1971, to serve as a training ground for student-teachers by opening Intermediate Grades (Grades V and VI). This initiative expanded in 1980 to include a complete elementary curriculum to accommodate the growing enrollment in Teacher Education programs, ensuring practical teaching experience for future educators while maintaining high standards of academic training.
