Questioning is a thing where you ask other people to get information. Sometimes wikipedia and other websites get things wrong, so ask people instead!
Reasearching is when you get on the internet or get a useful book and look for some key words. If you want to find out about the Aztecs, try to get on google or an Aztec book.
Analysis is basically a detailed examination of anything complex in order to understand it's nature or to determine it's essential features. And yes, I copied a lot of that from google.Sorry!
Sequencing is when you put things in order, like the time of the Mayan civilization, the Olmac civilization and the Aztec civilization.
This might be research? I'm not sure. But I think so anyways. And this is a picture of my fast and messy writing. While we watched a video about Aztecs, there was a sheet of questions that we had to answer!
This is my very favorite page in the Aztec book. This is probably the time that Christopher Columbus boarded the ship to find India? But he landed on America thinking it was India :D
P.S I am not sure if Christopher Columbus went to find India. But I think that it is somewhere in Asia. I don't know! :D But I think it is starting with the letter "I". Or is it???
24/1/24
Today we did a document about some civilizations. This is probably skill#3 because we have to find the time in the timeline and look at the pictures. And we had to answer some questions. About civilizations. And I thought that we would have a lesson about timelines!
Screenshots/pictures:
This is a picture from yesterday. I forgot to post it on. Yesterday we wrote on our whiteboards about our day. Wait, that was to days ago. Let's redo that. 2 days ago, we wrote on our whiteboards blah blah blah. Okay.
This is the minecraft chinampa that me and Katoon made. We grew carrots, wheat and beetroots because those are the only things you can grow in minecraft.
They are really important becuase we can easily grow food and there is water near by- no need to water plants! And they could also feed other people/ friends/family.
Me and Katoon spawned some dogs and tamed them- the Aztecs killed and ate dogs when they grew up! But I don't have a picture of them.
Today we have a whole afternoon of humanities! So there are activities for us to do, and I first did...
So today I got two plate pictures from google and filled them with pictures of the foods that the rich aztecs and the poor aztecs ate. This is probably skill #2,because I searched this on google- didn't bother reading the attachments in google classroom, sorry!
Next I watched other's and my video about chinampas on flipgrid:
Thirdly, I did one edpuzzle quiz.
Now you'll see what I did in Kahoot!!!
Just a few minute ago,we had a few minutes of minecraft- me and Elizabeth built a house that had 2 sections- one was a little private garden that was almost like a small chinampa. And I also made a very large chinampa outside and planted carrots! But I don't have pictures- I might post them later!
I answered questions (multiple choice) while watching a video for information! Most of the questions say based on the video anyway!
An amzing fun fact: the aztecs used chocolate as medicine! They also had hot chocolate at weddings, ceremonies and more! But I don't really want to taste them because according to the video, it says the Aztecs put chilly in hot chocolate! And (I'm still not entirely sure about this fact) the Aztecs used cocoa beans as money! Wouldn't that be great? You could make chocolate out of your own money! :D
Next, I did another Kahoot-and I got last again. I am totally terrible at Kahoot. But other people are super good!
Now I am doing (yes,I am doing so much humanities activities-maybe a little too much :D) another edpuzzle-there were two,you see. I got all of the questions correct- the quiz was about chocolate making and that made me really really hungry! But I really liked this quiz!
Today I did my last task! The task was... a reading comprehension about chocolate! In fact, If the Aztecs didn't exist,we wouldn't have chocolate! So the reading comprehension was about chocolate and the questions were okay!
And now I am gonna add a new thing to the rich people's plate- chocolate! Only the rich could afford Chocolate because it was so expensive!
This is making me hungry!!! And now i am done with all my tasks! Yay!!! a fun fact about the aztecs-they ate monkeys! i read that today in a horrible history book! eww!!!
Today (in english) we planned our travel brochures! But the brochure is to be about the Aztecs. This kind of links it to our humanities class! We are gonna make a brochure about meso-america (Mexico)
But yesterday we did a thing were there were different stations and we had to do different activities. It was very fun and also part of our english lesson. Here are the pictures:
Firstly, we did a document about inventions. I'll tell you what skill they are!
I think this is skill 2 because we have to search on google to get the awnser! Which is awesome, by the way. But this is skill two no matter what!
I still think that this is skill two. Or maybe the first skill, which is questioning, but doing that with google. But actually, I think the document is hard! Oh, and the hardest one to rember to type is this one:
Like, seriously. Okay, moving on, I already finished this! It was a little hard, but at least i survived! at least! but it was fun.
Yeah, okay, I'm just updating this. I'm telling you about last week's lesson!
Okay, we are learning about a new thing now! About tools.
Last week, we researched about acient tools and we got that information from this poster up here and videos and probably a bit good bit of it from google too. Then we answered the questions in a worksheet.
We also got to see what the axes that were used in the old times looked liked. The stone was supposed to be an axe and it was the oldest tool on earth! But then even more advanced tools appeared and then they probably didn't use it anymore. Probably. Maybe they still used it because, well, maybe if you threw a sing,e stone at someone's head it would hurt a lot. It would literally hurt soooooooo much. But the this othe axe came in and then another one. And by the way, we also used a website for these pictures.
First they used a stone. Then they used more advanced tools that were even harder to build. So maybe their brain started working because the tools were more complex to make. And string probably was even harder to make at that time. Here's the most advanced axe:
That looks more like another sort of tool... yeah. I know, I think it looks like a hoe or a pickaxe. Actually, I think it it's a pickaxe. Yeah... doesn't look like one.
Today I'm gonna tell you what we did last week! We did some things on the mat, like listen to Mr. Bovee ramble on about tools while we look at the powerpoint on the screen! Okay, that was a joke. But it's true! I'll show you guys some pictures of the things we also did!
We were using skill #3, which is analyzing. We used workd association to do this or something like that. We basically wrote down what we thought about. My group and me were working on the hunting & survival page. I wrote bow and arrows and also wrote about how they were used to hunt animals. I also wrote that they could use these things to get to bone marrow, use the animal fur for clothes and winter coats to be prepared for the cold. By the way, bone marrow is a sort of liquid that is very very very healthy for you. We also awnsered questions form the powerpoint in padlet! Here are the photos:
I only have two screenshots, by the way.
