I really like this maze because it seems so creative and it is also very colorful too!
I also really liked this maze because I think it is also really creative.I like it because it has a really good style!
This one might be for kids at the age 3-6 or something around that.It kinda looks like a theme park for me.
This one might also be for kids or babies, since there is a magnet pen.The kids also might like it very much !
I really like this part because there's these tunnels, and the ball could fall out or ETC. It's like a mystery where you don't know what's gonna happen.
What I really like about this maze is where these lines lead.
I love this one where you have these red magnet pens.
This is my looong list of layers in procreate maze puzzle.
This is the menu where I add text and insert photos!
This is the text menu where you get to Chose the size of the text and fonts!
I really like this wooden one from my Primary research photo. It 's terrific that it has a stand!
These are my layers. And I added
so much photos and text I couldn't find anything AT ALL!
This is the text menu. You can chose fonts and sizes there.
Text menu size!
This is my poster in procreate for primary research that I really like.Next time I might add a bit more things, like more small textboxes and more photos, but I am not sure I will see them.
This one is completly very good and I might be able to add some things in the pink background if I have time to do it.I like it very much!
This one, however is from the right side.It looks diagonal and not bad for a first try of Tinkercad!
This is from the left side of the tinkercad design. This one is my favorite photo!
This is my design in tinkercad. It was a test to see if we remember how to make designs.
This is from another angle(top) and I think it looks good!
Yeah,I know this is going to be intense...I made the line a bit not in the middle...
This is one of my pencil designs of my maze the most! This is just pencil for now.Square mazes! This one is letter based.See the X in the middle?
I have rendered both of the designs. The green one and the blue letter-based one. These are what I've done so far in DT sessions(breaktime).
Today I rendered the triangle! As you can see,I've selected pink and green for this. The shading is kind of good, but the shape is small.I could cover the whole design triangle with my hand, one hand only!
This is my triangle maze design. It's quite small,so it is a little bit hard to do the shading and rendering.Although it was hard,i think i like this one so much!!!
This is my square letter based maze design.I really like the shading and i think personally that the colors match each other a lot.I really like the whole design.
This one is green and yellow.I don't really like the colors, they don't match each other.
I have almost completed the yellow one.I just started rendering it today.I haven't rendered the cone yet.The shapes and holes and spinners are supposed to be orange.
Today I finished my yellow ice cream.I think it looks very good.I added orange shapes/holes because I think that color stands out in yellow.
I have just started writing my commments on the paper.Next,I will have to fineline the comments.
I have started to fineline my sentences. My handwriting while writing over pencil is a little bit shaky,so you can see some grey pencil lines if you look very closely.
I used a fineline pen to fineline my designs and sentences. The fineline pen that I used was a black one.We can see more clearly with finelined sentences, but pencil, especially a HB one, might be hard to see.The one that I used was 0.5 size. There are lots of other different sizes, but I used this one.
This is a 2B pencil.I used it for also starting my design.I also used this pencil to write my comments. Some of the comments are not finelined yet,but they will be tommorow!
Finally! I have finished the fineline part. This took me ages to do,so I really like it! (I have tired arms here!)This is my fully finished design work.I think it looks pretty good and cool.I love it!
I'm updating my website today.A lot.Today the things I'll be typing about the mistakes and improvements I could make.
This is my definetly finished u-shape design maze.I like it.I personally think that if it was light green or another color,it would match better with the yellow. These don't really match each other as much as I think purple and yellow will stand out a whole lot more.
I really really like this design. This square design is most likely to be chosen for the maze project. It has a lot of different colors, like blue, pink, and yellow.I think it looks very colorful and happy,
I like this maze.But...does pink go a lot with green? I could change the colors, but I can't erase it!!!
This is the ice cream cone maze. This was my last design, and it went well.I did this because my friend Chloe and I wanted to do an ice cream maze,so I did it.I don't know what I think, but I might ask pthers for their opinion.
Today I will finally ask other people's opinions about this design sheet. Then I'll write it down here.I am pretty sure that there will be a lot for the U shaped maze and letter one!
And I was correct!Chloe Zhu,my friend likes this U shaped maze. She says that she likes it because it's green and looks like a face.
Another correct guess!Katoon,my other friend likes this letter based shape. She says that she likes it because there are lots of cups,so you can't decide which one to put the little balls in,and because it's big.
Another friend and a letter based maze lover!I like it a lot, too. She likes it because she likes the cups a lot, like katoon!!!Most of people like the cups, but i like the rendering.
This is Jenna's favorite.Jenna likes it because she says she likes it because it's tiny and small.Pink is also Jenna's favorite color.
Card test model for maze!
This is my letter based card test model.I just did this in pencil,so now I will fineline it with a black 0.5 pen!
This is my letter based design.I chose this one, because it is my very favorite.I value this one a lot.The first step is we get a piece of card and cut it into two seperate squares. Then we lightly draw our shape with ghost lines. Then we cut it out!
Today, which is Thursday,I finished finelining.I have started rendering it.Not quite have started, but it is a very good start,I think!
Main important part:Not getting bumpy lines with the fineline pen, which I actually did a bit...:)
Okay...so,the mistake was that I should have not rendered it! I should have rendered the base instead!!! :D
Procreate poster for my website:a additional idea provided by Mr Douglas.
The app procreate sure has a lot of very helpful tools. This one, howevery is the text menu. You can choose your text font, the size and how thick or thin it is.I find this very helpful, because we can change our size, mainly. It helps if we don't have to say "The text is too big!" :)
The layers are also helpful. We can get to know how many layers we actually have, along with turning them off,so you don't have to accidentally erase evrything. But what I find annoying is you can't quickly find your layers if you have a whole bunch of them. You have to press close/open layers to see if it's the one.
This weird thingy(super sorry,I don't know what it is called):)But anyways,I use this to add text, insert photos and the like!
Obviously, everyone knows what this is.It's a keyboard! The answer was already there. But I just wanted to point out something:The keyboard is really useful. We can type and do things. But if you see the "Aa" sign, that is where you can enter the text menu.If you don't remeber what that is,slide up a little and you will see.
That was my finished poster.I think it wasn't as astonishing as the last to procreate posters that I did(scroll up to see),because in those ones I just merrily made up the background in the first layer. In the first one I used flat brush in procreate and chose light blue and pink. And then I blended them together by going to a touch button and chose water color and blended them together so there will also be a little bit of purple. In the second poster I also did the same process, but used various different shades of pink to blend in.
Now let's dive into the complicated world of opinions again...Now!
(Pretty sure most of you are saying "Boooo!!!' :) Relax! I'll only put in two opinions!
Chloe says that it is really good, but suggests that the background can be changed to dark blue and the text can be able to be changed to white.
Marie thinks that this poster is very good because it's very thoughtful. She also says that she likes how I showed my rendering in the poster.
Cutting the card test model shapes!
This is me cutting my card model. The full thing will be posted down below. Thanks to havarna for taking this photo!I think cutting is very hard indeed. My hands are actually aching.
While I was a little panicked,I accidentally snapped of the outline. So I had to stick everything back again.
Now I am making my other procreate poster of my design. We had to do that after we have finished with cutting the card test model.Which I did! So we have to use pretty much the same tools in procreate, except it is for our design. I chose the letter based one, as you all might know since I've been rambling on forever about my favorite design. :)
New poster :procreate poster about our maze designs!
I will show you how to make my letter based design.I think this is the easisest way.Step by step!
Extra note:I think you should select black. To make the drawing exactly like on the design paper.Then...I'll give you tips in the steps to sucsess.Select Monoline as your pencil!
Step one:
Draw a design in the middle of the page.Make it big and make sure that the shape you drew has enough space for you to put things in(for example:spinners, holes cups, whatever your design has!)
Draw an outline. It needs to be the perfect size.
Fill the square with a color that you chose. The same color in the design. Maybe also try and get the exact same color as the design, because mine is a bit too bright and green...
Once you have filled in the colors into your design , (drag the circle color into the shape)you will have to fill the main big shape with the small shapes.Things like spinners and shapes and cups and etc.
I'm not sure about this, but you might have to fill in the background. (My friend Chloe did).
TINKERCAD:
Today we did our maze designs on Tinkercad.I think I have completed some steps!
Tinkercad:
I will upload some pictures of the tinkercad. We made our mazes in tinkercad. Let me show you a few photos!
This is probably the first step.Uh,it's blue...
Sorry if it's similar! I just showed that this is a scribble. You can change the colors, make it transparent, change the hieght and the size!
I forgot to take screenshots of me duplicating the layer and some of the other steps. So I'll just speed everything up and do it
12/1/24
Today I will show you the different versions of my maze project design on Tinkercad. I think that some colors are very pretty. And some are just plaine and simple for me. Anyways,in the next few textboxes and pictures I might be adding a few of my friend's favorite about which color they like the most. Keep in touch!
P.S I will have a name for every single color.
As you can see, this is my lavender letters maze. I call it that because the back is a sort of lavender or purple color. And the shapes are basically just, well, letters.
This is not my name option. Chloe chose it! Anyway,it's back is a kind of pink that I absoloutly loveeee. It's so lovely.
This is a completely normal name,is it? Well, I think that even if it is normal. But it stands out soooo much that it actually looks PERFECT. This is my third favorite color design.
The background color is kind of the same color as butter: a creamy, yellowish color. I really like this color. I used to call it buttermilk: I read a comic book and the wrapper of buttermilk was this color!
This lovely dark blue is almost the same color as the ocean! Only that it's darker. In the ocean, the blue is more light. Although near the shore it is very light!
This name is very creepy,is it? I chose this name because it was the first name that popped up in my head! But the maze doesn't look that scary. But does it???
This color is super bright! (If you're a cat lover, it will be supurr bright! Get it?) I think this blue color is perfect. I really like this blue! Though, actually, it's the standard colour, so if you choose the draw thingy on TinkerCad, it's going to be blue when you haven't changed the colour yet.
Now I will show everyone my versions of the maze and put in their opinions.
Chloe likes it because she says it's a creamy color. I agree! Does blue go well with yellow? I don't know...
She likes this one because the blue and purple kind of matches and also the lavender looks calming.
Elizabeth likes this one because she likes the colors and because it looks cool!
we have to export it to the lazer cutter!
It was called Glorious Esboo crift until we changed it lol. :D
Sorry, I got of track. So when we exported the design, (we sent it to the lazer cutter) we had to save it to files. And also, everyone had to change the name. So from Glorious Esboo Crift, I had to change it to Minnie.4B.Maze. And by the way,we had to send SVG. I think that might be a type of lazer cutter. But I don't really understand it yet. Maybe I will tell you later. But I do remember that last time I exported a design from Tinkercad, I exported to the 3D printer, not the lazer cutter! This is a new thing!
I forgot to post some photos if me making holes in my design in Tinkercad! In fact, I'll show you a few pictures:
There is a grey circle thing in the menu. We got this circle and changed it's size. To 4.00. Here is the picture:
Next we had to kind of put the circle in a place. You could have 3-5 holes for your shape only. So you just make the circle a little taller, then put it in a place on the sides of your maze design. Next, duplicate the shape. Once you duplicate the shape, it will flash red for a few moments. Then you select the shape and the top layer (your shape is supposed to have two layers) then there will be a hole in the first layer. Do this again but only with the bottom layer. Then there will be a hole in both layers and now you have a hole. Next, you have to repeat these steps for 3-5 times( depends on how many holes you want). By the way, this is your group button:
Switch of subjects! This is my favorite one. Because I like pastel colors, and this color is like a bright, pink rose. I really like it!
By the way, this is the picture we sent to the lazer cutter:
The lazer cutter only reads lines. And the lines are very thin and we can't really see them. You can also see the holes that we made in tinkercad (scroll up to see!).In both layers. This picture might be sent to the lazer cutter right now and it might be building my puzzle!
My design has come out of the lazer cutter:
Holes:
The pieces are the shape of an x,u,v and C.
This is the whole thing together:
The C: the end is too short.Ah well.
The C is too short! Maybe the lazer cutter cut some part of it off or something.
This is what the lazer cutter looks like. I imangined that it would be something else.
Today some people are going to paint the mazes! They are going to use wood stain. There are different colors to use. And wood stain stays on your clothes and if you get them on your fingers, they stay on for a few days. When the others are doing wood stain, we are doing our posters. By the way, this is the place where you have to do the wood staining:
I also took some photos of my friend Chloe staining her maze:
Her design is really good! And I changed some of my colors to primary colors. Since there is no light blue,I had to change it to dark blue and also the pink to red,as I wasn't sure that there was any pink and I changed the yellow to yuzu orange. The orange is kind of similar to the yellow, but a darker kind of yellow. I think you know what I mean. I'll post a picture down below. But my friend Chloe just changed the color of her design,so I just thought, why not?
So today i will ask my firends if they like the old version better or the new version. starting with chloe:
Chloe thinks that she likes this one better because she likes the dark blue and also because the colors are very cool.
Katoon likes this one because she likes the sky blue and because the colors in the new version(the blue) are too dark.
Can't forget my own opinion! I think I like the old version more because I really like sky blue and the blue that is in the new version is soooo dark. And the old version was slightly more colorful and they were my favorite colors. And I think I prefer lighter colors more thaan darker colors,so... I like the old version better.
I really like Chloe's design. Her colors match her design-unlike mine. And my colors weren't supposed to be like this because I changed the design while painting it.
I think the colors are very similar to Chloe's. Although I think I like mine better, I think I like the designs, not the colors. I REALLY like the design.
WHY ARE ALL THE COLORS BROWN??? Well, I like mine better but because I actually don't know what this is supposed to be. No offense to Veda, though. I actually kinda like this one because it is very unique and has a different style.
This is Laura's maze. I really like her design more than mine. It is shaped like a fox head???
Now I am done comparing and starting to talk about the contrast of the colors. The red is not that similar to the yellow/orange. And these three colors are nowhere as near as similar. There is one dark color(the original design was supposed to be sky blue, but I guess there's no sky blue wood stain) which makes the red and the yellow/orange stand out a lot. The original design was pink and yellow.
Right now,I'm gonna go back to comparing.
This is Jenna's work. I really like her gaming design as well as her matching colors! I actually never thought that black and green would be good with each other, but now it's a very perfect fit! The design also matches the pretty colors and everything looks real good!
By the way,Laura airdropped this to me. This probably was a spare piece of wood that she used to test colors and ended up with them getting blended. The color combination is very pretty, though.
By the way, Chloe's maze is in the background up above! ^^
I am updating my website today! So today I will be asking my classmates if they dislike or like anything about their maze design. I couldn't decide what to do at first-then I came up with this! Firstly, I'll start with Katoon's maze design! Well, not design. Maze!
Katoon doesn't like the orange because it is a little bit like yellow and she likes the crimson red because it's her favorite type of red.
Chloe likes the color combination and she doesn't like where she accidentally added a line that she didn't need.
By the way, I dislike the dark colors (I always prefer pastel or light colors) and I really want to change the colors of the maze now. I
Today I am just doing the same thing that I am doing up above- and also there might be some things I have to post too, because I have a DT session ahead of me! Okay, this is enough talking! Let's start straight away!
This is Marie's maze. By the way,she hasn't put the pieces together yet because the paint hasn't dried. What Marie likes about her design is : She likes that the blue and the green matches with each other and it really stands out. What Marie diesn't like: Her pieces are quite small .
She likes the game controller shape and also the black and green. She doesn't like the swirly shapes. I really like her design!
Today I glued together my maze. I was really scared that I would mess up. In fact,I kind of did. The glue seeped out and I was terrified! Or maybe I just put too much glue?
And by the way, the shape in the middle was supposed to be a spinner. But I accidentally put in a hole in there- and then Mr. Douglas told me I didn't have to put it in there. Then I thought, what if I pulled a trick on the players of this maze? I would trick them that the middle shape was a normal spinner, when it actually wasn't because I made a mistake! Ha ha ha...
Yes, I know it's blurry. Well, kind of anyway.
I told you guys that the glue seeped out a bit. Well, I'll take a picture so you guys can see. I don't really mind that the glue is seeping out. It just bothers me a lot.
Of course, you can see the glue, right? I really want to glue it again. But anyways, I really want to get the box and take it home to show my parents and stuff.
So today I glued my pieces. And well, that didn't work out great. But it was okay,I guess. I still think that I prefer light colors.
By the way, my friend Elizabth just finished staining her work a few minutes ago,and I thought I would want to post my opinions on her maze. I actually think it looks really really good and the colors are matching, because they are both really dark.
The colors are really good but if it was me I would have done different colors.
Today (time for more of my opinions on stuff!) I am... yeah, you guessed it. Writing down opinions.
And I might ask some other people what they think about my maze design. I'm not sure if I've already done that, though.
This looks super good! I think it's supposed to be a cup of boba! It actually looks like a cup of boba- only if she shanged the shape to a roundish sort of cup.
Last term, I made a poster of my maze. We took photos from a lightbox and made a poster on procreate. I think I like my poster- only if the colors had been more bright and colorful! I had to make the box of the text the same colors and the ones from the maze to make it match. Look down below for the photo!
I think it would go better if I made the text more vibrant than the box!
You guys reading this are familiar with the procreate tools, right? well,if you don't, I'll explain some more below!
Tell me if you like my poster or not!
I know most of you reading this have seen the procreate session already, but I'll just explain it again. So this picture below is a section where you can choose various colors and also you can select any sort of color you want!
And also, this button down here is a button that you can press and then a menu will appear. You can press a button in that menu and you can add photos and text and all the other things.
Last week, everyone in 4B was trying to make a rasin box! So here's the gist: If your website is not really good, you get a cardboard box (no offense). If you have a good website, you get a rasin box. Everyone in this card got a rasin box to make. First we sketched two squares on a long piece of wood, then cut it in a scroll saw machine.
Tin my opinion, the scroll saw machine is kinda hard to use. It makes sreechy sounds when we cut the wood and also we have to wear a helmet for protection. Nice, right?
By the way, I don't have pictures yet but I'll post them on later. Anyway, here's a picture of the scroll saw. It's up there.
This is not exactly a button. Well, if you flip it, there's gonna be two more buttons, A green and a red one. they are for opening the machine. The green is the open button and the red is obviously the close button.
This button gets the engine working. It's at the bottom of the scroll saw!
In order to use the scroll saw, you have to tuck your tie into your school t-shirt and wear a helmet. Why? Because if you don't tuck in your tie and you lean in, the tie might get stuck in the machine cutter and your body might get dragged and lose a few fingers or two.
And why do you have to wear a helmet? Well, when you cut the wood, wood dust will come out. If you don't wear a helmet, the dust will get into your eyes and I imagine that it will be very itchy. Even if you wear glasses, you still have to wear a helmet.
Anyway, in case I forget to update this again, here are the poctures from last week's lesson:
In case you didn't know, we're making a box for the puzzle.
Today I'm going to sand my wood in the sanding machine and maybe glue the pieces together. Last time I was supposed to do this but I had a violin lesson. Sonow I'm doing this now. I hope I'm not gonna fall behind! But anyways, I'll get you a picture of the sanding machine and my work so far! Here it is:
Yeah, okay, well, it turns out that I don't have a picture of the sanding machine. I'll just... insert it later. Okay, this is the sanding machine picture:
Then I sanded my wooden sticks, then glued them together with the two big remaining pieces of wood. And then Atom helped me put on the tape, and now my box is put in a vice sort of thing. Here are the pictures: (Also, I forgot to take pictures of glueing. I'm sorry!)
They're being held by clamps. Why? Because these are squeezing the two layers together and squeezing the glue together or something like that. And now I think the glue is supposed to dry in one week. One week. ONE WEEK! I don't think I can wait that long but I have to!
On Monday this week I painted my box white with acrylic paint. It was actually quite easy. It didn't take long. The thing that took me a litte longer was smoothing the paint out. I had to smooth out the "lumpy bumpies". Okay, they're actually bumps of acrylic white paint. I didn't take a picture of when I painted it but I did take one picture of Marie doing it!
The photo with the person colouring is Marie and the box is mine! And also, here is a picture of the bottle of glue I was using. Not much... I know...
Today(23/05/24) I am going to pour the resin on the box! I am super excited! So in order to pour the resin, we have to mix two liquids together. One is called Resin and the other is called hardening. Then Mr. Douglas will mix these and put them in a small paper cup. Next, we get tweezers and get a pinch of resin powder.Just a small pinch of it. Then, we get a stick and stirr it together. If you stir just a bit, there is gonna some swirly looking paterns. If you mix it completly, the color is going to become completly flat. Here is the Resin pouring station:
Here is my work with the Resin on it:
I really liked pouring resin. The resin liquid was kind of thick but silvery and there were some swirly patterns in the cup of resin when I mixed the liquids together. I'll show you some more pictures. But I think the resin has dried ever since and I can take a photo of the dried Resin. It's gonna be amazing!
this is me pouring the resin. my colour combination was purple and blue! i really liked this combination because the colours sorta match and they are really pretty....I sorta poured these and them mixed them with a popsicle stick.
Here's a good and sorta dark picture of my box with dried Resin on it:
Today I sanded off the masking tape (yay!) on the sanding machine. After that, Mr. Douglas cut my box apart into two parts. Here is a picture:
We also sanded the corners and things like that later:
Moving on!
Now it's opinion time! You guys: Groan!
So I"m gonna ask my friends what they think about my Resin cover and my box. They can give me their opinion on what I should improve and what they like and don't like about my box. Not that I can really improve it of course, but I'm just looking for things to fill this website :). By the way, I would think that the resin was stained glass if I didn't know what it was, actually. It feels smooth, just like normal glass would.
Elizabeth thinks this is cool and she also likes the color combinations, which are, as you can see here in the picture, sky blue and purple. I like it too! She doesn't like the purple because it's a bit dark. She also says that I shouldn't improve anything at all because it's good already!
Marie thinks that it looks good! She likes it because the colour blends together, and she doesn't like that the blue is the bit too light. She says I should improve... she doesn't know!
Of course, I can't improve my box and my friend's suggestions are awesome but I can't improve because my project is already finished! I could actually sand my box a bit, but I can't recreate the poured resin, obviously! Did I show you the inside walls I made? Here they are!
The wood with the lighter, creamy color are the inside walls, while the shorter version of it, but only darker. While I glued the outside walls together, the inside creamy coloured walls needed to fitin perfectly when you cut it and then sanded it. Well, you didn't have to sand the corners but you do have to sand the top and the top corners and then the lid with the resin on it can fit on even easier, because before everyone had to force it on.
Before this week, like last week on FridayI came here and put the foam in. Yes, I did use the scrap paper for a template, which was very very extremly hard for me! But I finally did it and chose some foam. At first I chose sky blue foam because sky blue is obviously my favorite colour, given the original design of my maze! But there wasn't a correct size, so instead I settled for a nice pink.
Was there dark blue foam? If there was I would have chosen it to match with the colours of my maze. Or maybe yellow or red but I didn't see these colours either.
But anyways, I love the choice of my foam now! I really like it! But I also want the colours to match but... anyways, I really like this colour. And my project is finally finished and I can take my box with puzzle in it home!
Me: Marie , do you like the puzzle or the box better?
Marie: I like the box better, because the puzzle is way too hard to solve!
The rules of the game: Each cup has a different number of points. Set up a 1 minute/ sixty second timer. See how many points you get in one run! Also, note down your high score on a piece of plain white paper and try and beat it! This is a bit hard to beat because the game is a bit complicated. There are fake spinners!
The blue cup:3 points
The yellow cups: 2 points
The red cups: 1 point
These points are based on the rareness of the colour of the cup. There is only one blue cup, so the points are higher. There are 3 yellow cups, the most common, so that is 2 points. And the red one is 1 point as it's the second rarest coloured cups.
I'm afraid that is it for this topic! I was actually kinda succesful, and I really liked the way that my maze turned out in the end. One of my favorite parts of this year's topic was the resin pouring, and the fact that I finally got to use the bandfacer multiple times (and failed a few times too...) was amazing. One thing that I reccomend is that I do not really like making the test model card thing, because it is quite difficult. I don't really know why we need to do it, because I think that it is difficult enough already. And yes, I wrote this at home in Y5 at home because I was bored and had nothing to do. Anyways, check out my new flower pot page! BYE Y4!!! Thank you for teaching us Mr. Douglas!!!
