This is my portrait of picasso! I think this is very good for the first artwork of the year. I even have a whole storyline on it! She's half zombie and half human. That's why the pencil colored side of her looks sort of divine, and the other side looks like a mean girl.
Storyline: Basically this girl is half zombie, half human. Her name is Star. Star befriends a popular girl (Chloe's artwork). The popular girl mde a deal with Star- if became friends with her, she would help Star hide her zombie side of her life. The popular girl also befriends another girl (Sherlyn's artwork) and promises to hide her autistic side.
I really liked this rendering! I feel like this is something I did really well in this artwork.
This is my self portrait- inspired by Julian Opie's portraits of people. It was really fun doing this project- and slightly stressful because if you mess up one part it won't start looking good...
Firstly we took pictures if ourselves and outlined the picture with pencil. In this step, you have to be very careful and remember where you already outlined. To make this picture look like a cartoon, you have to color in only the nostrils and the black cirlced in the eyes and the lips meed to be onky the top line of the top one, and a little bit of the bottom lip too.
We traced it pencil off of this photo that we took. I was able to let my hair down for a specil effect. I think this photo was okay- but not my best :D
This is the OG photo- just a normal photo! It's nice, right???
This is my artwork. I really like the shirt and the right side of the hair because it flows down freely and it was actually really fun to draw.
Now we're going to doing some research on Pablo Picasso and Julian Obie! I'll start with Julian Obie, since I just uploaded a picture of an artwork insipired by him.
Did you know Julian Opie is colour blind? He says that it's really fustrating sometimes, but it gives him the chance to play with colours.
Furthermore, he was born in 1958 in in London, England. He also went to Dragon School snd Magdalen school in Oxford, England. After that, he trained at the Chelsea College of art and went on to be a teacher.
Today we painted our Julian Opie self- portraits! It was really fun! Although I do feel that I kinda messed up my work a bit because my skin was too dark.
I like it but it was a little too dark- and if you look closely, you can see that there are actually two colors! That's because my original color was going to run out, so I re-made it. But unfortunately for me, it didn't turn out to be the same color. I used it in the tedt paper and it was similar!
As you might see in this picture, the hair is not painted yet! That's because we haven't gotten the chance to paint the hair- and we will do it next week!
I really like the shirt! The color is a little more flourscent than the original shirt's color. Hey, don't blame me! It's hard to mix colors and get the exact one that you need.
Overall, right now I like it! It's okay- and I think that it's like a trust the process thing.Â
