For week 11 and 12 , my focus will be on finalizing the remaining components of the creative toolkit. This involves making further refinements to fonts and colors. Additionally, I'll be actively working on the production for the exhibition.
FEEDBACK
While substantial progress in enhancing the cohesion of the content has been made, it appears that the abundance of separate printed materials still makes it challenging to grasp the overall picture.
This aspect will play a pivotal role in shaping how the work is exhibited and presented. Thus, it should be taken into account during the refinement process to ensure an effective portrayal of how educators would grasp its social context and engage with it.
HOW CAN I ENHANCE THE PACKAGING OF THE MATERIALS?
CREATIVE TOOLKIT CONTENT STRIP
The content paper strip serves as my solution for comprehending the entire picture amidst the various printed tool components. It enhances overall presentation, organization, clarity and accessibility of the materials, thereby simplifying educators' comprehension and engagement with the content.
VISUAL PACK PACKAGING
The creative toolkit comprises several components, including a visual pack containing a minimum of three visual resources and four stickers. Therefore, it would be beneficial to have a clear demarcation or distinction between the visual resources and the other tools.
MAIN PACKAGING (ENVELOPE)
The envelope plays a pivotal role as the primary packaging for the educator's creative toolkit. Although I couldn't locate a customized string and washer envelope that precisely matched the toolkit's color scheme, I opted to design a set of stamp-like stickers. These stickers contribute to the vintage aesthetic that complements the toolkit's overall appearance. In addition to this, the envelope will be replaced with a catalog envelope to ensure maximum accessibility.
COLOR CHECKER
Upon careful consideration of various paper options, I determined that Enviro-care (115 GSM) is the most suitable choice for the creative toolkit. Additionally, after discussions with the print companies responsible for producing and binding my exegesis, as well as consultations with MONSU, I conducted color contrast checks and made necessary adjustments to enhance color visibility and readability.
UNPREDICTABLE FACTORS
In the present week, the design toolkit is nearing completion, with key components having undergone refinement. However, after thorough consideration of factors such as an incorrect delivery of string and washer envelopes and the unexpectedly high fabrication costs for the original pegboard intended for the exhibition, I found it necessary to implement significant changes and let go of certain ideas to accommodate the exhibition's requirements.
MADA NOW EXHIBITION
After extensive discussions, we reached a consensus on the exhibition layout and the elements to be incorporated into our designated space. I had initially considered utilizing the school's metal pegboard, complete with shelving, plinths, and dowels to showcase my creative toolkit. The adjacent white area would serve as a banner, providing information about the project, while the printed exegesis would be strategically positioned along the room's walls.
