By popular demand, I included some online giftedness and IQ tests for you to try out. There are a few conditions, though:
These results are just for fun. Actual IQ tests must be given by trained professionals, they take hours, and the results must be analyzed before a score can be determined. Those tests are norm referenced and bias assessed and scientific. These tests are not. These are just for fun.
Consider the motives. These tests were created by people who chose to spend their time making them. Try to determine the reason someone spent time creating this test. Are they trying to create something fun? Are they trying to fit people into categories? Are they trying to tell people about themselves? Some of the tests will tell you more about the designer than about yourself.
What does it show about perceptions of giftedness? The reason I think playing with these tests is a beneficial use of our time is because it is a fun way for you to see what other people think gifted means. What do the questions say about what they think it means to be gifted?
How do the IQ tests try to measure your ability to learn? Notice that the questions are not testing your knowledge (or, at least they try not to), but instead try to measure your ability to notice patterns or figure out new puzzles.
The results are just for fun. These tests cannot tell you that you are not gifted. They are for amusement purposes. Do not take the results seriously. Did I mention that already?
