Once you have been assigned to a subject, you will be able to see your courses listed on Blackboard, so that you can start uploading the information in your syllabus. You just need to click on the course and search for the Syllabus option to open the E-syllabus application.
** Use the new version of the syllabus **
If the icon corresponds to the older version, you can add the new one in the "Books and Tools" section.
Once the new icon is added, it is necessary to hide the old version.
Besides that, the Documentation Department will send you an email with the details of the syllabus you may complete and the deadlines. You also will receive a reminder few days before the deadline.
We encourage you to activate the Activity stream and/or email notifications for New Course and organization in Blackboard. Drop down to see more information.
Once in the syllabus you will find the workflow of the document in the upper part. The highlighted box indicates the current status. Also here you will find the Send button to send the document upon completion.
These are the possible status for a syllabus:
Professor: The syllabus is in Professor edition and its has not been sent yet.
Materials Review: The materials are being revised by IE Documentation Department.
Purchase Approval: The total cost of materials needs to be approved.
Coordinator/Area Director: Pending approval by the Coordinator/Area Director. This stage is optional depending on the Subject.
Program Manager: Pending approval from the Program Management.
IE Documentation: Syllabus is being revised by IE Documentation Department.
Finalized: Preparation has been finished, but it is not yet visible for the students.
Published: Preparation has been finished and the syllabus is visible for the students.
You will see the deadline for submission in the screen. It will be displayed in colors:
Green: More than 2 days left to the deadline
Orange: 2 days left before the deadline expires
Red: Deadline expired
Right below, you will find the Track Review, where you can follow the track of the events occurring within the syllabus completion process, with user, date, state change and comments. This track will help monitoring the full process. You can expand and collapse the list as needed.
After the syllabus has been sent, and only if the materials have a cost, the section Material Pack Prices will automatically be created. In here, you will be able to see how much every material added actually costs.
On the next section, you will find the minimum and maximum percentage of asynchronous sessions required for the course.
On the right side, you will see the Type of Session Control. The platform will automatically calculate the percentage of each type of session and the total percentage of asynchronous sessions. The box of Total asynchronous will be colored green / red indicating whether it meets the required percentage or not.
If the required percentage is red, in the moment the syllabus is sent to the next status, it will show a pop up for the professor to provide justification.
