Divisions were established.
First season with divisions.
The only year in Pioneer League history with three divisions.
The only year that a division was comprised entirely of newcomers.
Ryan Coughlin, Rick Dunlop, and James Florentine's first seasons and Paul Eligio and Mike Marrerios' only seasons.
Rick also left the league, but would return in 2025.
Dawn of the "Fairfield Era," named for Fairfield University where Jason Moragas met Ryan Florentine, Eric Hannmann, Patrick Kiernan, and Tony Pagliaro. Ryan would introduce James Florentine to the league, while Tony introduced Ryan Coughlin, Rick Dunlop, Paul Eligio, and Mike Marrerios.
Rivalry week's first inclusion.
Year of the infamous trade between Tony Pagliaro and Ryan Florentine that essentially saw Tony trade Anthony Rizzo to Ryan’s team in exchange for a chicken turnover.
Brendan Davis successfully traded away Lorenzo Cain three times in the span of one month without ever trading for him back. Instead, he would trade Cain, wait for the receiving team to drop him, pick him up as a free agent, and trade him again.
Three weeks after the third trade, Cain was dropped again. He remained a free agent for an additional three and a half weeks until Aaron Snyder picked him up and kept him for the duration of the season.
The amount of players involved increased with each trade. The first trade was two-for-two, the second was three-for-three, and the third was four-for-four; good for a total of fifteen players in total.
Ryan Florentine set the record for most trades in a single season with 36.
This would remain a record until the 2021 season when Mike Andranovich completed 49 trades, Tony Pagliaro completed 44 trades, and John Inguagiato completed 37 trades.
