Book of the Day: Thank You Omu by Oge Mora
This book is all about how Omu (grandma) cooked a special stew, had a big heart and shared with her neighbors. Dress up as if you were a grandma or grandpa!
We Are Grateful-Otsaliheliga by Traci Sorell
Celebrate community and gratitude with the Cherokee people who reflect daily on the blessings and challenges each season brings with the phrase "Otsa/iheliga," or "we are grateful."
The story features a tree showing all the ways it changes with the seasons. Choose a deciduous tree and draw how it would look in all four seasons.
Make a gratitude paper chain to decorate your room writing what you are grateful for on each link. Take a picture of your links to show Mrs. Magoon . We'll post the pictures on a bulletin board!
Write a poem of any form about what you are grateful for or on the topic of gratitude to hang on our poetree in the DES library!

Learn more about awe-inspiring animals in the wild: it’s best not to judge a beast until you understand its full, lovely life.
Suggested activities:
If you have access to the internet, investigate the types of wildlife in Korea. Make a list, a drawing of the animals and write a few facts about them.
Create masks that show different animals out of paper, cloth or items from around the house. Save and share them with your family, classmates and especially Mrs. Durrant!
