In my junior year I took one of my most challenging classes I've ever took, APUSH. The class examined American history through a totally different perspective than anything I had ever been taught in the past. My perspective on a number of historical and contemporary social, political, and economic issues has altered as a result of the course's objective and unfiltered approach to studying the past of the United States.
This course focuses on human functioning, including personality traits, biological predispositions, and social interactions. I found universal principles that culminate all human characteristics when I studied the psychological theories of philosophers and scientists from around the globe in many different eras. This course helped me connect with others more meaningfully and gave me the tools to understand different people and cultures better.
This course is a culmination of 4 years of high school level Spanish. I was able to communicate with people from many languages, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds due to this course, which broadened my perspective on the world. In addition, I studied social justice issues in great detail and became knowledgeable about numerous worldwide objectives as they relate to Latin American culture. Through language proficiency and cultural understanding, AP Spanish helped me better understand the cultures of Spanish-speaking nations and strengthened my identity as a global scholar.
