The Caloocan City Public Library is open to the public from Monday to Friday with the following library hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (no noon break)
Everybody is required to sign the logbook for attendance. However, only readers and researchers are allowed to enter the library. Non-library business is prohibited inside.
Bags and other belongings must be deposited at the baggage area. Money, wallets and other important/personal belongings are allowed inside the reading rooms. Ballpen, pencil and papers must be taken in.
Things are subject for inspection before leaving the library premises.
All books and other library materials are for reading room use only. Borrowing or Lending books for outside use are not allowed (except for Fiction books).
Only two (2) books/reference materials at a time can be borrowed by presenting any valid identification card (ID).
Smoking, talking, eating, littering and sleeping are strictly prohibited.
Books and other library materials should be returned to their proper places.
Orderliness and cleanliness must be observed.
Library materials should be handled with care. Tampering, vandalism, theft and mutilation of library resources/materials will be punished.
Select the reading material on the shelves. Users may only get a maximum of 3 reading materials (ex: book, magazine, or journal) at a time to utilize the library collection.
Library user quietly scans the reading materials on the reading table. Ensure that these materials are situated apart from their personal books to avoid mix-up.
Ask permission from the librarian-on-duty if the user wishes to take pictures of the pages of the books. This is to prevent copyright infringement and to preserve the appearance of the material.
All patrons of the Caloocan City Public Library must observe the core values, mission, and vision of the library. As a patron, he/she/they will not impose any request that may malign CCPL from its principles and functions. CCPL reserves the right to protect its establishment, staff, and collections from untoward requests by any library user. Caloocan City Public Library welcomes the general public. There is no priority given to the residents of Caloocan City. Everyone will be given equal and impartial access to its services, collections, programs, projects and activities, provided that the client followed due processes in obtaining these functions of CCPL.
Register to logbook upon entry.
Present any valid identification card.
Deposit bag/s and other belonging/s except valuables at the baggage counter.
Receive counter number for deposited belongings.
Belongings to be brought inside the library must be presented first at the guard-on-duty before entering the reading room.
Deadly weapons and other harmful materials is are not allowed inside the library premises. Owners must deposit their firearms under the supervision of the guard-on-duty.
Animals are not allowed inside the reading room. They may be left in attendance by the library staff at the baggage counter.
Personal books are allowed to be brought inside the library. Provided that the user fills-out the gate pass slip to declare his/her/their personal book/s. This is to avoid mix-up with the collections of the library.
Eating is not allowed inside the reading room. Only drinks with covers (such as tumblers or water jugs) are allowed to be brought in.
Enter the library reading room quietly.
Ensure all personal belongings are with the user before leaving the library reading room.
Present all borrowed books to the staff on duty at the exit gate.
Ensure that borrowed books are properly stamped with the due date to remember when to return the book/s.
Present personal books for inspection.
Present all other belongings brought inside the library. This is to avoid occasional heedlessness from bringing-out library properties.
Proceed to the baggage counter to collect bag/s and other belongings.
Log-out from the logbook at the guard-on-duty’s desk.
Unclaimed belongings (no matter of importance) after end of office hours must be claimed the next working day. The owner must properly identify the unclaimed belonging by providing valid identification of the material. If not properly identified, the library will keep the material in custody until the rightful owner claims it.
The library shall not be forced to be opened beyond office hours due to forgotten belongings inside the library premises.
Library users may call the library phone or send an email inquiry for any matters concerning their personal belongings discovered beyond the library’s operating hours.
