The Caloocan City Public Library (CCPL) offers a variety of services that caters to the needs of diverse patrons.
LIBRARY HOURS:
Monday - Friday
8 am - 5 pm (No noon break)
On a daily basis, the Caloocan City Public Library provides the following functions internally throughout its organization, and in service of its patrons:
1. Organization, processing, maintenance and preservation of all its collections.
2. Acquire or purchase necessary library materials and cultural and historical valuables.
3. Create library programs, projects, and activities suitable to the diverse age-range of the members of the community.
4. Circulate reading materials internal and external of the library (Circulation services).
5. Answer patron inquiries in any medium either face-to-face, email, phone calls, etc. (Reader's services).
6. Provide reliable sources for research and further studies of its patrons. (Research assistance).
7. Sustain free Internet and Wi-Fi connectivity within the library for patron use. (Wi-Fi and Internet services).
8. Assist in reprographic needs of its patrons (Photocopy services).
9. Support free printing of texts as needed by its patrons (Printing services).
10. Deliver requested documents of its patrons through any format (Document delivery services).
1. All library users must complete the Internet service form.
2. Once permitted, library staff will assist the user in accessing any available computer.
3. Each library user is allowed a maximum of 30 minutes of computer use, which may be extended if no other users have signed up for the next time slot.
4. Library users are expected to handle the computer hardware with care.
5. It is the responsibility of library users to navigate the Internet safely, avoiding downloads and harmful websites that may contain viruses, malware, or phishing applications.
6. If there are interruptions in Internet connectivity, hardware or software malfunctions, or power outages, the allotted time for the user will be adjusted accordingly.
7. Library users are prohibited from using the Internet for online or offline games and from visiting obscene websites or content.
8. All files saved on the computer will be deleted at the end of each week to free up storage space. Library users are advised to save their work and send it to their email.
9. After finishing their session, users must log out and inform the library staff on duty. It is the user’s responsibility to log out of any personal accounts accessed during their session.
10. A library user may share the computer with other library users during their allotted time and may also allow others to use their time slot.
11. If a library user damages any computer hardware, the city librarian will assess the damage and may impose the following fines: a. Replacement of the damaged hardware with a new item of the same brand or higher quality (e.g., mouse, keyboard, CPU, AVR). b. Replacement of the damaged hardware with a used but still functional item of the same brand. c. Payment of the depreciated value of the damaged item at the City Cashier’s Office.
12. If the library user who caused the damage refuses to pay the imposed fines, the city librarian may file a complaint for "damage to government property."
13. Once the library user settles their accountability, the replacement item will become the property of the Caloocan City Public Library. The user will not be allowed to recover the item for any reason.
