The Teacher Assistant course is a leadership position in which a student serves as a peer leader and teacher’s aide to a semester-long course. Teacher Assistants must be a Junior or Senior and have taken/passed the course. Interested students must apply by completing a TA application where they may put in a request to work with specific teachers or departments.
Teacher Assistants will be expected to be present and engaged in the day to day operations of the class. They will attend class daily and become an instrumental part of the classroom management and support their peers through the course curriculum.
Being a Teacher Assistant is an opportunity for students to enhance their competency in a subject through leadership as they learn employability skills related to communication, time management, collaboration and taking initiative.
Every Teacher Assistant designs and implements a Semester Project that relates to either; peer support, teaching or career exploration. The project must relate to the course and have an impact on the students or the NHS community.

Select Teacher Assistant during Course Selection. TA placements are finalized by Internship Coordinator during the 1st week of a semester.
