Video Conferencing

In an online learning environment, two methods for instruction are asynchronous and synchronous. When looking at synchronous instruction, one key component is the ability for a teacher to do teach in a live, virtual format. There are many platforms that allow you to engage with students through video conferencing. Two platforms that we will discuss on this page are Google Meet and Zoom.

Google Meet was recently activated within our MUSD Google Domain and allows students to use their Google login credentials similar to Google Classroom. Teachers have several features within Google Meet that allow them to manage their classroom in a virtual environment. Meets can be scheduled through Google Calendar, within Gmail, or through Google Classroom.

Zoom is a tool that quickly gained popularity during the COVID-19 school closures. Zoom is easy to use and has many options for teachers when hosting meetings. Teachers can schedule meetings ahead of time and can share meeting information with students through their Google Classrooms.
