I really struggled with this one. I don't even know how I got 90 points on this assignment because of how little sense it makes to me, it may make sense to others but DEFINITELY not me. All I know is that Pythagorean Theorem says that A squared plus B squared equals C squared and that this has something to do with it.
So we know that both triangles inside the circle are the same size and shape, which also means that x+36 is also equal to 13x.
To solve for x, you will have to remove it with a simple one step equation. Just add a number to 36 and multiply 13 by the same number, but x will only be found if both of the numbers are the same.
Answer: the only way for both x+36 and 13x to become the same number is for x to equal 3 (x=3).
