I've learned how to properly use binoculars. I have also learned how to be mindful of birds and how to not disturb them. If I was a bird, I think I would be less important compared to other birds in the backyard drama.
I have noticed that male birds are much more vibrant and colorful, I'm guessing that this is because the bright colors are supposed to help attract a mate.
I have also noticed that male Cardinals have a sort of "Mohawk" of feathers on the top of their heads. I don't know if it's for attracting a mate, but I'm guessing it is.
By far one of the most common birds we see regularly when going outside is the chickadee and the turkey vulture.
On the days that had bad weather, me and some of my classmates worked on a big bird ID puzzle. It is quite hard to even find a single piece that works with the rest of the puzzle (Or I'm just bad at puzzles).
