Gianni Infantino stands with Qatar

by Dimitris Meintanas
November 22, 2022

With the recent accusations of Qatar, FIFA President Gianni Infantino defends Qatar based on the accusations opposed to them. The president first starts with how, "Don't criticize Qatar, don't criticize the players. Don't criticize anyone. Criticize FIFA. Criticize me if you want. Because I'm responsible for everything." He then carried on defending Qatar by the claims they are accused of for death tolls to migrant labourers from poor countries that were hired to work on the construction of the stadiums. He then later on discussed the 2 most major complaints made by FIFA fans. With number one being that Qatar has banned the substance "beer" for the games. Gianni defends them by saying, "I think personally, it for three hours a day you cannot drink a beer, you will survive." He had surprised all the journalists. And finally, he discussed with a weird tone about the security of LGBTQ+ community members by saying, "Today I have very strong feelings, I can tell you that. Today I feel Qatari. I feel Arab. I feel African. I feel Gay. I feel disabled. I feel a migrant worker. Everyone's security is guaranteed from the highest level of government. This is the guarantee we've given, and we stick with it." If any of the readers reading this that don't understand why he added that final security part was due to in Qatar homosexuality remains criminalised in the country.
