FOR PERMANENT STUDENTS ONLY (THIS INFORMATION DOES NOT CONCERN EXCHANGE STUDENTS)
As a non-European student, after graduating from Strate, three scenarios are possible if you would like to work in France:
1. Carte de séjour salarié ou travailleur temporaire: You need to have a job offer or a work contract from a French employer/company and be paid at least one and a half times the minimum salary in France (2,620.80 € euros gross per month in September 2023). Please click click here for more information and updates.
2. Carte de séjour - Recherche d'emploi/création d'entreprise: If you are not from the countries listed under point 3, you need to apply for a residence card called “job search/company creation” residence permit (Carte de séjour - Recherche d'emploi/création d'entreprise). It has been created specifically for people who graduated with a French higher education diploma. Please note that this permit is only valid one year and cannot be renewed. The “job search/company creation” residence card also allows you to stay in France for 12 months to complete your professional training and get your first work experience or create a company in the field that corresponds to your training.
3. Temporary Resident Permit (APS - Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour): you can request this visa, if you come from a country that concluded a bilateral agreement with France. The countries concerned by APS are the following: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Republic of Congo, Mauritius, Gabon, Tunisia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovinia, India (status at September 2023, please check on the website of Campus France for the most updated list). This residence permit allows foreign students to stay and work in France for 12 months after the end of their studies, and it is non-renewable. Please note that this permit is only valid one year and cannot be renewed.
Please note that applications for the above mentioned visas can be done only at the Prefecture near your place of residence and not online.
Please note that EU students do not need a Residence permit to work or look for work in France and Algerian students enjoy a special status (more information here).
