The Wellness Committee is a dedicated group of Strafford School staff, administrators, and community representatives who work together to support the health and wellbeing of everyone in our school community. Our work is rooted in the belief that healthy students are better learners, and that a school community thrives when it prioritizes physical and emotional wellness alongside academic achievement.
The Committee meets four times per year, typically in September, December, February, and April. At each meeting we review progress on our wellness goals, discuss updates to programs and practices, and identify areas where we can better support students and staff.
Each spring the Committee conducts an Annual Wellness Survey, gathering feedback from parents, staff, and students on how well the district is implementing its Wellness Policy. That feedback directly informs the work we do and the recommendations we bring to the School Board. Every three years we also conduct a formal Triennial Review, a comprehensive look at how our Wellness Policy compares to state and national best practices and how well we are meeting the goals we have set for our community.
We are always looking to grow and welcome parents and community members who are passionate about student wellness. If you are interested in joining the Wellness Committee or learning more, please reach out to Superintendent Robert Seaward at robert.seaward@strafford.k12.nh.us.
