Visual Arts

Visitors to our school have the opportunity to feast their eyes on colourful displays of artwork created by each class. The children engage with lessons in drawing, paint & colour, construction, clay and fabric and fibre. The stimulus for the lesson is very often work that is being covered in another subject area at the time and the art lesson is a favourite for many of the children as they work individually or in groups to produce their masterpieces. Children are given the opportunity to examine works of art by renowned artists and to discuss how they have created their own works. The children are also encouraged to participate in local and national art competitions and we have celebrated many successes in these. Below is a small selection of images showing some of the artwork recently produced.

Wall Murals

Below are photos of just a selection of the fantastic murals and artwork created by parents and volunteers at St Patricks BNS, Castlebar. People gave their time and effort over a series of weekends and evenings to create wonderful surroundings for the boys of the school to enjoy their time in.
