For the individual project i have a few ideas to do for it. A custom chess set (all includes pieces and board). A person. Or a puzzle box, or a phone holder. I made a phone holder last year in 8th grade, so i'm think to make a upgraded one. I might even do a sundial

I've decided not to do a puzzle box for sure, because I cant even understand, looking at examples on the internet, How to even put the pieces together.
Just to make sure i don 't want to do a puzzle box i'm going to be printing one on the 3d printer,

Today i decided to do a custom chess set.

I was trying to figure out the measurements for the chess board, all i got was a very confusing answer

I used the dots instead of fully shading the boxes because i do not walk to start a fire and this is just a practice one
I thought it would be cool to make the kings, my face. So i decided i might do a scan of my body and print it.

Today i almost finished my custom chest piece rook.
I was not able to put the last cannon in though, because i made it too big for the inside of the rook. I will learn to resize it tomorrow.

Today i gave up on making the rook castle thing. I decided the Cannon was cool and much more capable for becoming a custom chess piece
Today is also laser cut one of the squares for my chess board

Today i started making the knight. I am going to make the knight ride the horse so i started making the horse.

Today i was searching on the internet how to make a person in solidworks, i went on youtube first and found nothing than i went on thinkiverse and also found nothing.

Today i made the bishop. I looked on the internet to see what they look like as people, After is saw em i started to make a cross

Today I went back to my bishop character and I holed it out so it would use less 3d filament
I took out the squares so when it cuts it will be one row of squares on the cardboard and another row of squares and they'll be under the cardboard
I came in during advisory today and i redesigned the chess board so it looks cooler and than i laser cut it. Here is what it looks like
I used the eraser tool to make the engraves

Today i started to redesign the rook.

I also added a window looking thing and i holed the bottom so it would use less filament.
During advisory, I came in and found out how to resize my objects on solidworks. I also made sure to holo all of my models to save filament

Today while patrick and jon started working on the marble run i started to print and figure out what size i can make the pieces.
I came in at advisory to pick up the rook i printed. Than i printed a square which is the same size as my chess board. After i cut the square out on the laser printer, i matched it up to my 3d printed rook, and it fitting perfectly! For the sizing on the rook i made "X" 22.35mm and "Y" 22.35mm and then "Z" 51.29mm, I scaled it down to 100.00%. I am going to use these exact measurements on my other pieces. Hopefully they'll turn out similar if not the same size.
The size of each square in the chess board is exactly 1 inch to 1.2. (because of the eraser i did to it.

I have and idea for what to do for one of my pieces, I decided to make an action chess set

Today i am using the queen crown as the queen chess piece. I have not made the piece yet. I am going to make it at home because I have a lap top that using 3d paint which i think is easier than solidworks

I printed 3d chess pieces, the queen and the knight. I printed 2 queens because i needed to see what size would fit the chess board square.

Today I created my final piece, the king. I made a little cut so the cross pops out

Today I went back to my King chess piece and made it thicker. I also made a good mistake which made it look better, Kind of like a moon it looks like
