News from our Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome back to an exciting Term 2! We hope you had a rejuvenating break and are ready for the upcoming term filled with learning, growth, and community events.
Uniform Reminder
A gentle reminder that wearing the school uniform is a reflection of our community pride and shared values. Please ensure that uniforms are worn correctly, along with the appropriate accessories. Teachers will be monitoring uniform compliance closely to maintain our school's standards.
A huge thank you to Sonia Mazzei for organising our Movie Night last Friday. It was great to see families coming together and having a picnic dinner on the green. Thank you also to Mel, Michelle and Mary who also helped on the night.
We also have a number of unclaimed items in our Lost Property. Please ensure that your child/ren have their name on all items so they can be returned.
Playing out on the school yard
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students, we continuously monitor and guide activities in our school yard. All Our staff diligently oversee all ball games ensuring that they are conducted safely and that each child enjoys these activities without risk.
To reinforce this positive behaviour, we kindly ask for your support at home. Please take a moment to talk with your children about the importance of playing safely and respecting others while on the yard. Discussing the impact of their actions on their peers helps in nurturing a community minded spirit and promotes a more enjoyable and secure atmosphere for everyone.
Together, let’s continue to guide our children in understanding that safe and respectful interactions are essential, both in and out of school. Your cooperation and support make a significant difference and are greatly appreciated.
Staff News
I would like to wish Natalie Galletta, who is getting married this weekend, all the very best for this very special day!
I would also like to let the community know that both Tarryn Cehner and Grace Grech are expecting their first child. Tarryn will finish here at STM at the end of Term 2 and Grace will finish middle Term 3. Both Tarryn and Grace have been an integral part of our school community for a number of years and we are grateful for their dedication, passion, and knowledge. We look forward to welcoming both Tarryn and Grace back to STM in the future. As always, our goal is to provide your child with a high quality education and create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. We understand that change can be both exciting and challenging, and we are committed to supporting your child during this transition. Rest assured, we are actively seeking a qualified teachers to replace both Grace and Tarryn whilst they are on leave.
STMPA - Needing Support
The St Thomas More Parents Association (STMPA), play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience for our children. However, to continue our efforts, we need your support!
Together, through STMPA, we can organise enriching activities that benefit our school community. Your involvement is essential in making these initiatives successful, without family support it is left to STM staff to run these initiatives however this is not sustainable. Attached is a document where you can volunteer your time and skills according to your availability and interests. Please complete this sheet and add your name where you are available.
At STM, we are committed to providing the best possible environment for our students, but we cannot do it alone! Your support fuels our endeavours, and we are immensely grateful for it.
Thank you for being part of our school community and for your willingness to contribute. Together, let's continue to make St. Thomas More a place where our children thrive.

Premiers' Reading Challenge
The Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge 2024 is now open. Families received an email last week with information regarding how your child can participate. We are so lucky here at STM to have our very own passionate librarian, Miss Lou, who just loves helping students choose books they can read which can then be added to their reading list. So many students have already
signed up, but it would be wonderful to have even more join in. The challenge is open to all students from Prep to Year 6.
Parents, if you would like your child/children to participate in this challenge, please email Miss Lou who can register them: leveston@stmhadfield,catholic.edu.au.
