God is so powerful and wise that we humans can't fully know or understand Him; but if we trust His promise and focus on His Holy Spirit with us every day, all wisdom and understanding will be ours in heaven.
Fr. Michael Mehringer is blessing the 8th Grade journals
Today our readings teach that God is so powerful and wise, and His plan for us is so perfect, that we humans can’t fully know or understand Him. Many people turn away saying it’s foolish to believe and follow God if we can’t figure Him out on our own. Others get tired, or distracted by unimportant things, and miss God’s Holy Spirit guiding their lives. This message is especially important for the 8th graders because some of us are preparing to be sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. One of those gifts is wisdom – a gift only God can give.

No matter how difficult, scary or dangerous our world may seem, God is always by our side. If we trust Him, His holy angels will protect us, and He will keep us close to Him forever.
Fr. Jason Malave's homily explores the life of St. Andrew Kim and how we are all being called to find our own path to God.
Welcome to this week’s Mass hosted by the 7th Grade. Thank you, Fr. Jason, for celebrating this liturgy with us.
Today we remember St. Andrew Kim Taegon (Taygon) and his companions. They were Korean Catholics who dedicated their lives to sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. They stood by their faith in God’s eternal love even when faced with hardship and death.
Their example of steadfast dependence upon God echoes the message in today’s readings that no matter how difficult or scary something may be, God will lead us through it and keep us close to Himself.

The focus of this Memorial Mass for 9/11 is to remember to seek Divine insight in order to bring understanding and comfort to any tragedy. We are called to be open minded to the challenges it presents knowing that through God all things can be transformed into something good.
Fr. Jason Malave proclaims how God is with us in the good times and the bad times.
Ms. Lyne’s 6A Homeroom welcomes you to this Memorial Mass. We gather together here to seek God’s wisdom when we are faced with tragedy. Today, we remember the events of 9/11. On this sad day we are reminded that tragedy can occur, and that we need faith to find understanding and comfort. As we listen to the readings, we hear that it is important to be open to God's wisdom and not be tied to worldly ideas of anger and fear. It is God, who shows us new ways, to work for peace and understanding.
As we move through this new school year, we will be faced with challenges which may tempt us to judge others and to hold onto grudges. But if we can remember the message of St. Paul to the Corinthians, to not judge others but to try to understand why they acted as they did, we might find ways to forgive, accept our differences, and build friendships.
