Term 4 - Science Day!
What a brilliant day we had being mad scientists! We had a fantastic assembly all about this year's theme: change and adapt lead by Mr Hemsley! We then made our own erupting volcanoes linked to our Geography and English topic of Natural Disasters! Each team made their very own volcano and then we completed our own science experiment of making them erupt! The children showed excellent teamwork and creativity and they absolutely loved seeing the 'magma' ooze out of the top! Thank you for all the effort put into the children's costumes and outfits, they all looked brilliant!
Term 1 - Rocks and soils
Lesson 1Â - Identifying rocks - In today's lesson, we looked at a range of rocks and we spoke about how we can identify rocks. We came up with what colour they are, how they feel and the shape of them. The children had the opportunity to scrutinise a rock more closely and we asked them to draw the rock they had chosen, describe the shape, describe the colour and describe the texture. The children used some awesome adjectives to describe the rocks they chose!
