Term 6 - Sparkle Walk
Wow, what an afternoon! From when the children walked in to the very end of the day, they had a huge smile on their faces. We had so much fun and everyone participated thoroughly! A massive thank you to everyone at home for sending the children in pink - they all looked AMAZING! Huge shout out to Ashgate Hospice for popping down and presenting the children with stickers and flashing bunny ears, it made the walk even more hilarious! Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped out on the stalls, walking round with the children, painted glitter tattoos and took photos - you all made a huge difference! Finally, a huge thank you to our wonderful PTFA for the resources and especially the ice lollies at the end - they were needed!Â
Term 4 - OPAL Build Day
The children thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon where they were set the task of painting projects for our OPAL playground. Mrs Holmes' class got to work in the morning building the projects which included a wonderful house and a lemonade stand. We then spent the afternoon outside painting the brilliant projects! We spoke about the risks and the rewards around painting and all of the children were incredibly mature and sensible whilst we were outside. In small groups, we were in charge of painting our chosen project. The children had to work as a team to decide which paint to use, which panels to paint and who was painting which bit. They all worked so hard and had a lovely afternoon! I think some of them could have a career in decorating, they were painted to a very high standard!Â
Term 4 - World Book Day
We had the BEST day ever! The children all looked brilliant in their World Book Day clothes! We enjoyed breakfast with a book upon arrival where we got to cosy down with a book, a croissant and some juice. We then had a wonderful assembly where the children had to guess the teachers favourite books! The children then received a full play production of The Wizard of Oz, performed by the staff in Year 3! In class, we looked at The Wizard of Oz and completed some reading activities based on it! They were absolutely brilliant all day!
Term 3 - Hot chocolate with Mrs Brown
The children have been working incredibly hard to earn as many golden tickets as they can this term. We can earn golden tickets from other adults around school if they see us walking smartly, sitting smartly in assemblies, holding doors open, being polite, remembering our manners in the dining hall and being helpful when tidying up at lunchtimes. We were recognised so much by other members of staff around school that we won the termly treat with a whopping 49 golden tickets in total! I am so proud of my lovely lot because they so deserved this lovely end of term treat because they are such kind, thoughtful and polite young people. As a result of us winning, the children earned a cup of hot chocolate and some biscuits with Mrs Brown and extra social time which we will be taking after half term! Who doesn't love a good hot chocolate and a digestive?!
Term 2 - Santa in school
What a way to end our lovely term 2, with a fantastic day playing with some toys, watching Dr Seuss' Grinch and seeing Santa! The children were excellent in the hall and they definitely spent up! We wish you all a very merry Christmas from the Year 3 team!Â
Term 1
We filled our pom pom jar again! The children have been absolutely awesome and have been impressing lots of different adults with their behaviour so we earned another treat afternoon! This time, we took our huge parachute outside and played lots of different games. We all had a blast :)
In our class, we have a pom pom jar! The children can earn pom poms in a variety of different ways and once the pom pom jar is full, the class have earned a treat! We filled our pom pom jar due to the children being awesome and as a class, we voted for a teddy bear afternoon. The children brought in their favourite, cuddly teddies from home and had a cosy Friday afternoon :)
