Lesson 1 - What is information technology?
We spoke about what a computer is and what technology is. We discussed the differences between the two and we thought about different items that either are or aren't technology. We also came up with a clock, watch and lights that can also connected to technology in some way, so we put these in the middle of our class tree map.
Lesson 2 - Where have we seen information technology in our home?
In our second lesson, we thought about what different technology we have in our home and what we use it for. We thought about how some technology can be used for work purposes, for games and other fun things, for socialising etc.
We created a circle map of technology with have in our home and we discussed who has the same/similar.
Henry thought of things such as:
an apple watch, an art printer, an air fryer, a sky box, a phone...
Ayanna and Oscar thought of things such as:
A laptop, a Nintendo Switch, a TV, an x-box...
Evie and Lola thought of things such as:
A mobile phone, a tablet, an electric watch, a clock...
Lesson 5 (part 1) - how to use information technology safely.
In today's lesson, we thought about different forms of information technology and what we can do on each one. We then sat together and thought about the rules that we should follow when using these devices. We are going to make posters to display around school to help others use technology safely. We are also going to use different types of information technology so that we can put these rules into practice. More pictures coming soon...
Lesson 5 (part 2) and 6 - How to use information technology safely.
We created posters to share around school to show everyone how to use different devices safely. We thought about the specific rules that we might need to follow in order to protect us from harm.
