Lesson 1

To begin this topic, we went on a journey around our school. We looked at the different geographical features that we could see, that we might wish to incorporate into our maps later on. These are some images of the things that we saw, keep an eye out to see if they appear in our final pieces!

Lesson 1 - Exploring clay

We have used our hands as a tool to shape clay. We thought about different techniques to create different items, such as rolling, and squashing.

Lesson 2 - Pinch pots

We have learnt how to shape a pinch pot and used clay and water to create a slip to join two shapes together. We scored our items using tools. 

Lesson 5 - Final piece - A house on a tile.

Today we created our final piece and we made our tiles. We used our skills of rolling, joining and shaping to create our houses. The children used their designs as a piece to work from and created some amazing pieces.
