Week 9: October 20-23, 2026
This Week's Proclamation:
God loves me. I can love like God.
We will begin our week by continuing to learn about the virtue of Responsibility (part of Justice).
We will pause our exploration of Salvation History to prepare for All Saints Week and Vocation Awareness Week: We will use Ruah Wood's curriculum "Revealed" to explore how God gave us freedom so we can make loving choices. When we make loving choices, we become more like Jesus, and walk the path to becoming saints! We will also introduce the idea of a vocation (a calling from God) by recognizing that God created each of us in a unique way, with gifts and talents and a special purpose.

Homework + Projects:
Your Religion Homework is to spend time with God, your Friend and Father (and the best Teacher!) every week. Keep track of how you spent time with God on your Prayer Log.
*October Prayer Logs are due on Monday, November 2. They will be graded for completion, not for what or how much is prayed. Logs turned in late will lose 1 point for every day it is late.
**The Hallow Bingo Card is a bonus activity (aka optional). Students who return their bingo card on November 2 will receive and All Saint's Day surprise. (Late bingo cards will not be eligible for the surprise.)

Year at a Glance:
Trimester 1 (August - November)
Kerygma: the kernel of our faith (God created. Sin destroyed. Jesus saves. We respond.)
Creation and The Fall: God created the world out of love and it is good! We are made in God's image and likeness. God promises to send us a Savior.
Prayer: God created me for a special friendship with Him. Prayer is talking to and listening to God as our Father and friend.
The Bible: God reveals His loving plan to us in Sacred Scripture. He fully reveals Himself in Scripture plus Tradition.
Purity of Heart: God gave us freedom to make loving choices. We can love others through our work. Through grace and virtue, we can live like Jesus.
Saints: God has a plan for us to live with Him forever in heaven.
Vocation: God calls me to a special mission - I can be a priest, a religious sister (or brother, nun, monk), or get married.
