Curriculum

     PreK is a time of discovery and a love for learning. Our program teaches many aspects of gross and fine motor skills, social and emotional skills, and many academic skills.     

   We will be learning all the letters of the alphabet this year and the sounds they make. We will also have a heavy concentration on phonics through the Haggerty program which will be used daily.

     In Science, we will concentrate on the world around us. For example: weather, taking care of our Earth, and life cycles.

     In Math, we will count from 1-100, count by 5's and 10's, and be able to identify amounts from 1-10.  We will also focus on learning common shapes both 2D and 3D. 

    In Social Studies, we will reflect on being a good citizen, learning our Pledge of Allegiance to both the U.S. flag and the Texas flag. We will also connect life to events, time, and routines.

    We will begin prewriting skills and advance to letter formation.

    Atrium will focus on our Catholic Identity, our mass rituals, and our relationship with Our Good Shepherd.
