Matthew Sherter ‘22 stars in the latest installment of Eye of the Storm’s “Day in My Life” series on one of the most exciting days of the year: Festive Friday! Follow Matthew and his fluorescent tie around the Hilltop as St. Lucians celebrate the arrival of winter break.

He's a gardener, a super fan of The Office, and...an Olympic curler? There's a lot to love about Mr. Chuhta. In this "Autocomplete Interview," our Assistant Head of Middle School and science teacher answers Eye of the Storm's burning questions. Based on the series created by WIRED.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Eye of the Storm transitioned to distance learning along with the rest of SLS. "Quarantime!" is a miniseries that comments (lightheartedly) on some of the changes wrought by the novel coronavirus. The episodes harness the power of asynchronous collaboration to complete the production process; students film using equipment at their disposal, share content through cloud storage for editing, and utilize email, Zoom chat, and the occasional video conference to critique and polish.

In "Pedestrian Questions," two EOTS members roam the halls asking questions of unsuspecting St. Lucians. In this installment, Victoria Whitcomb '20 and Matthew Sherter '22 test student and faculty knowledge of famous corporate logos.

March is National Athletic Training Month, so EOTS has produced a video featuring our incredible athletic trainer. Ms. Nicole is on the sidelines of every game, ready to help at the first sign of injury. She works with Storm athletes every day, guiding them through rehab and physical therapy to keep them healthy and help them return to peak performance. Beyond her medical expertise, Ms Nicole is a kind and supportive presence on the Hilltop who embodies our school's dedication to service. 

Moli Ma's incredible paintings immediately catch the eye. But to her, art is much more than just pigments on canvas: it's a source of joy and an outlet for self-expression.

Though St. Lucians know Calvin Strothenke '22 as a stalwart member of the Concert and Blues Bands, his musical talents actually reach far beyond the Hilltop. As the bass player for 'Platinum Moon,' Calvin has helped his band produce an album and win 'Connecticut's Got Talent.' 

In EOTS episode #14, you can experience a day in the life at St. Luke's with Molly Kim '21. Follow Molly to class, volleyball practice, and band rehearsal, and meet her teachers and friends along the way! 

St. Luke's community members truly go "Above and Beyond" as they help fight homelessness at the 2019 Inspirica Walk-a-thon. In episode #12, Kayleigh Bowler '20 and Phoebe Kurth '20 celebrate this year's record participation and donations. 

He's a St. Luke's alumnus, parent, teacher, and our storyteller extraordinaire. As a farewell and thank-you to Mr. Henson, episode #10 details his time at SLS, including his most beloved memories and the lessons he's learned on the Hilltop. 

As a student at St. Luke's, Seeley Fancher '14 wore many hats: varsity athlete, Cum Laude Society inductee, and daughter of a faculty member. But after returning to the Hilltop, she has a new title: Science Teaching Fellow. In episode #8, Ms. Fancher describes why she came back to St. Luke's and how being an alumna gives her a unique perspective on teaching.

Though the SLS Boys Varsity Basketball team has earned accolades and praise, the program's greatest strength is its team culture. Episode #6 focuses on the 2018-2019 team, featuring game footage and interviews with coaches and captains. 

The SLS volleyball team has been going from strength to strength with Program Director Abby Abbott at the helm, and the team gained a valuable new member in fall 2018: Coach Garrett Minyard. In EOTS episode #4, Nicole Ayoub '21 interviews both Abbott and Minyard about their coaching philosophies and plans for the 2018 season. 

Food trucks, sports games, and design thinking? It can only mean one thing: Homecoming is back! In episode #2, Elyse Kim '21 interviews Mystery Box Challenge participants, club booth leaders, and administrators about their favorite Homecoming traditions.
