Senior Retreat
Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support of our senior retreat! Whether you are a parent that allowed your senior to attend the retreat, wrote a letter to a senior, attended our opening prayer service, served at our closing retreat meal, chaperoned, or a myriad of other tasks, the retreat could not have been the success that it was without you. Enjoy the pictures below, and feel free to visit the tree that we planted in the park by the river. It has the four colors tied on the 4 sides of the tree, and it's a peaceful place to pray for all of our students.
To give you a glimpse of the students' experience of the retreat, here are some of the reflections that they made on the bus ride home when asked which experience on the retreat was the most spiritually significant and why
"I would have to say that it was hiking up Bear Butte. I felt so much closer to mother earth. It was a moment of relevance for me; my identity as a young indigenous woman. I was able to reflect and lift up/offer really important prayers that have been on my heart for a long time. I am so thankful that I got to do that in my traditional way"...Kaelene
"The walk down from the top of Bear Butte because it made me so thankful and blessed that I was able to make it up and pray. It was very relaxing and calming for me"...Mollie
"Walking up Bear Butte. I have always looked at Bear Butte but I never walked up it. The whole journey was prayerful and full of talks with the Creator"...Jason
"I’d have to say walking up the mountain because I connected with my ancestors who struggled during their hard times. I felt the struggle they did, and it makes me know more about them"...Briana
"The sweat cause every time that I wanted to quit, I prayed harder and stronger. I felt that my lost family members were there with me"...DeAndre
