At the College for Women at St. Catherine University, Katie's Giving Back is a student-run volunteer group founded by and for nursing students with a strong desire to help others. Our goal is to promote students' development as future healthcare professionals while providing them with worthwhile opportunities to give back to the community.

In addition to helping individuals in need, participants gain a deeper awareness of various populations and real-world healthcare issues through planned volunteer events, which improves their clinical experience outside of the classroom. Building empathy, communication abilities, and a feeling of social responsibility—all critical in the nursing profession—is facilitated by participation.

All nursing students are welcome to join the group, and participants are asked to engage in at least three volunteer projects annually. Under the direction of student executives and an advisor, Katie's Giving Back prioritizes respect, cooperation, and inclusivity. Above all, we aim to provide a nurturing environment where students can develop both professionally and personally, while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
