What would you buy if you had to do this challenge?
What is poverty? Can you give an example?
What are some factors that can cause poverty?
How can you help? What are some good ways to help someone in poverty?
Message: Jesus has great love for the poor. He means not only people who don't have anything to eat but also people who are lonely (poor in spirit.) Jesus wants to help each of us, and he wants us to help each other.
Jesus loves each and everyone of us.
Activity 1: Poor or Not Poor Discussion Board
Poverty takes many forms. There is no clear dividing line between “poor” and “not poor”. It is easy to lose perspective of what other people face when we may live in a very different experience.
Think of all the things that you have.
Pick 3 of your many things that you COULD NOT Live without. Write them down or draw them out. Be ready to share, Why they are a necessity for you to live.

Closing Prayer
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
Heavenly Father,
Open our eyes to the needs of the poor, Teach us to be compassionate, to be your hands and feet. Help us to encounter our brothers and sisters and to serve them with charity and mercy.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
