Students have been working hard on learning to play their recorders with appropriate technique and embochure! We are looking forward to sharing what we have learned at the Spring Concert on May 12. Please see the letter sent home for additional performance details.
Students have been working on reading and performing rhythm patterns in various ways. We recently created body percussion patterns to perform along with a song in honor of Earth day. Students will be learning about how poetry and rap are related, and will try their hand at creating their own rap version of a section of poetry.
Students will be learning about how music can be created using alternate instruments. Students will learn about the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura (Paraguay) and will explore found instruments with the musical group, Stomp.
