Student Guidelines
- Chromebooks are a school-provided tool and should be used for school assignments.
- Grade 6-12 laptops will come with a hardshell case that should remain on the laptop at all times. No stickers or decorations should be placed on the device or case.
- Make sure to charge your device nightly so that it is fully charged for your school day. Power supply cords should be left at home in a safe place for nightly charging.
- Stickers and other decorative items are not permitted directly on any school-issued device.
- Keep food and drinks away from school-provided devices.
- Pencils, pens, and other sharp objects should be kept away from device screens.
- Devices must be kept out of extreme temperatures - Do not leave them in cars for long periods of time.
- When carrying your Chromebook, always use close the cover and use two hands. Never lift the Chromebook by the screen.
- When opening your Chromebook, make sure it is on a flat surface such as a desk or table. To open the device, use one hand to hold the keyboard against the table. Use the other hand to open the screen by grasping the screen’s edge (in the middle) and gently moving the screen to the open position.
- Before closing the screen, make sure there is nothing on the keyboard to prevent the full closure of the device. Obstacles on the keyboard could cause broken screens or damaged hinges. Close the screen only when the device is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk. Close the Chromebook using two hands–one at either corner of the screen. Close the screen gently.
