"Einstein’s Definition of Education: "is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school."
This refers to the experiences, values, lessons learned and education outside the classroom - This is where sport has a critical role to play.

“The key is not the ‘will to win’… everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important” – Bob Knight
Basketball continues to grow in popularity at school level both locally and abroad. The growth and success of basketball at Saints is largely due to the buy-in and support of the entire school into and for the sport.
For many of our boys, basketball is more than just another sport. As you drive past our basketball courts outside of training times, you are almost guaranteed to find boys' shooting hoops or playing with their friends. This shows that basketball also forms part of the boys’ social life.
As a school, we are blessed and privileged by the calibre of our basketball coaching staff. We have coaches who are dedicated, passionate and experienced. Our coaches plus the basketball programme affords our boys' high levels of development which has contributed towards the school enjoying great success in basketball over the past few years.
The St Stithians U16 Basketball Tournament has developed into a prestigious event; one that is a highlight of the summer sports season. This tournament has also contributed to putting St Stithians’ Basketball on the map.
